If your company runs Jira on its own servers, the clock is now visible. Atlassian is ending its Data Center products, and Jira Data Center reaches end of life on March 28, 2029. After that date it becomes read-only. Server, the older self-hosted edition, already lost support in February 2024.
This guide sets out the dates, what "read-only" means in practice, and the realistic options: move to Atlassian Cloud, or move to a different tool you can host yourself. Dates come from Atlassian's end-of-life page as of November 2026.
The key dates
